Fascination Of The Unknown

When you were young, you were small, things appeared so high up, so out of reach. As you grew older, you could touch those things, feel them and you weren't amused by them anymore. Then you liked those planes that flew so high. You wanted to see them. When you grew up, a few years later and after so many flights, you weren't amused by them anymore.
Now you had grown. You wanted all of it. The power, the money. You wanted to own the skies. Something that remains in all of us, no matter how many times we change our dreams, is the amusement. The fascination of the concepts we do not understand. The disgrace of the concepts in our reach.
Even if you don't belong in this world, even if you'll never make it, people will remember you for your dreams. You give inspiration to others. Competition too. You want to succeed.
And then one day, you'll be at a phase where life will end and you will decay, become part of a greater fascination, a greater inspiration. An integral part which is not understood. Thus, it will amuse us. It would amuse the countless people that will further influence others. A vicious circle. Violent, sometimes, yet existant...and amusing.
And when amusement vanishes, disappears, exits from our lives, we will no longer exist. Our dreams, our inspirations, our existence depends on each other, on amusement, on a greater belief of a superpower, looking below, probably unhappy, but still loving us.
Refreshing amusement in our lives!

Without ignoring the fact that the label of the post is very funny :) , I'd still say I didn't understand what your post was driving at, and frankly, my guess is you didn't either.

About being fascinated and amused, its true, but even when we grow up, its more like we turn to things much simpler, that we feel fascinated by. for example, these days, not amused by airplanes and stuff, I now feel fascinated to see a child happy. unconditionally simply happy.

the world just goes around, i think! :)

I did understand what I wrote. Isn't it easy enough???
All I'm trying to say is that whatever is accepted by us is never really thought upon and something that we have never understood always amuses us.
Like, We never really are fascinated about certain words we know but we always look up the dictionary for words we have never heard. You wouldn't open a dictionary for the word 'horse', would you? Or even when you see a blog where the last post is already read by you, you wouldn't read it again even if you have forgotten certain words or thoughts.
Also, there is s fascination about why some people don't make it and why others succeed, IIT, for example (you could see that coming couldn't you???!!!).
All I'm saying is that we've never really appreciated what we already know, the vastness of our thoughts.
But I think there's too much philosophy here, so chuck it!

P.S. - Thankyou for finding the humour in the label...

Point taken.

Now that you mention it, I actually do sometimes wonder how those simple words like horse or drink or any word for that matter. How some sounds got associated with some things. and so on.. But,as I told you, I think too much! :)

There's absolutely nothing fascinating in seeing some people getting/not getting into IIT. And no, I didn't see that coming and I wonder why you keep mentioning IIT like its some sort of weird tag attached to a person.

@ Abhi : Dude, it's not about IIT here. It's about life. It's weird how some people succeed in journalism or, say, fine arts or modelling or whatever and some people just don't make it...
I just said that to give an example...you emphasised on the IIT...

@ Tsshar : Thankyou! This is like the first post which is well, not pessimist, I guess...

You went in circles for a bit, but I get the point.
But hey! I am still vastly fascinated by airplanes. Maybe the object itself doesnt "amuse" me anymore, but the concept is intriguing enough and as I see it, curiosity is all you need.

kika said...

@ prerhu : Thanks for keeping your promise

@ nikita : I know I exaggerate a lot when I write. That's is the main reason I got an '80' in my English...Anyway, thanks. And I agree, curosity is very important!!!

Kika: 80 in CBSE? That's effing brilliant! If I were you, I'd be jumping for joy (on my bed so as to break it again.. :| )

kika said...

Whatever! But I was expecting more...Call me what you want, make sarcastic and disgusting faces...But I was seriously high on English...
sigh
Some things just never turn out...

And now when Swati Das will ask me how much I got, I'll go like 80 and she's going to make those ugly faces...
Man!

The bloody comments.
Even more philosophical than the post.
Ok. Let me be direct here.
I liked it coz I did not exactly understand it. And when I don't understand stuff, you should know it's fantastic.
I did get some parts of it, like the amusement in life thing, well, I guess I would sort of agree with you on that.
Oh, and just talking of the post as a whole, I really liked it.
And about your english marks?
Whenever you curse 80, it's like you're cursing me even worse. And then I don't feel good.
And Swati Das doesn't even teach you anymore. She teaches me.
Sigh. Sigh. Sigh.

Achha Achha, get over it...
